Ann-Marie's necklace
Ann Marie asked me to make a special pendant for her daughter’s 18th birthday. (Lucy)
Ann-Marie had seen me wearing my ‘Chanel’ bottle pendant and wanted me to make something similar as a gift for her daughter’s 18th birthday. It was going to be a surprise but we decided in the end that we would involve Lucy with the design process too so that she got a piece that was exactly what she wanted.
Lucy decided that she would like a ‘Chanel’ flattened bottle so I created a selection and we agreed on one with silver writing on it. Ann-Marie had a charm with personal meaning to her that she wanted to be used within the design as well, a silver ‘tag’ with a message engraved into it. In keeping with this, the pendant is hung from an adjustable sterling silver chain. From here the pendant only needed some Swarovski crystal to compliment the other two elements and complete it. I found the perfect type, clear and silver crystal within one bead. I created two ‘tassels’ with crystals graduating in size and adding enough sparkle for the pendant to be worn in the day time or evening.
I wanted to get my daughter something really special for her 18th birthday and thanks to Hannah I did. To be involved in the design process and to see the delicate and unique necklace take shape was fantastic and a great build up to a very special celebration
